Walyarra Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Grader Operator to join our team for road maintenance works along the Gibb River Road in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
This position involves working within a small crew undertaking maintenance grading and road upkeep on one of Australia’s most iconic outback roads. The role operates on a 2:1 roster and offers competitive casual pay.
As a Grader Operator, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance grading activities to maintain safe and accessible road conditions along sections of the Gibb River Road.
You will work closely with a small team in remote conditions and must be comfortable working safely and independently in the field.
Location
Gibb River Road, WA
Rate
$50 - $60 per hour, casual award
Roster
2 weeks on, 1 week off
Role Responsibilities
Operate a grader to perform road maintenance and surface grading
Maintain road profiles, drainage, and surface condition
Conduct daily pre-start checks and basic equipment care
Work safely and effectively within a small remote crew
Follow all safety and operational procedures
Assist with general road maintenance activities when required
Requirements
White Card
HR Driver’s Licence
Grader Ticket
Previous experience operating graders for road construction or maintenance
Ability to work safely within a team environment
Desirable
Traffic Control / BWTM certification
Experience working on remote road maintenance projects
Experience operating CAT graders or similar equipment
