Walyarra successfully completed the installation of gabion baskets, alongside Winun Ngari Aboriginal Corporation, as part of ongoing flood recovery works. Leveraging its expanding fleet, Walyarra supplied three excavators and one CAT 950 loader to efficiently place and secure the rock-filled baskets, reinforcing critical road infrastructure, along Great Northern Highway, against erosion and future flood damage. The project showcased Walyarra’s ability to self-perform complex civil construction tasks while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Walyarra successfully delivered road opening and rehabilitation works along Gibb River Road, supporting early season access across the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Operating in remote conditions following the wet season, Walyarra deployed a CAT 325 excavator, CAT 950 wheel loader, multiple side tippers, and semi watercarts to remove debris, reshape road formations, and reinstate safe traffic access.

The works demonstrated Walyarra’s strong capability in Kimberley road construction and remote civil works, with efficient coordination of plant, experienced operators, and a focus on safety and productivity.

In collaboration with MRWA, key stakeholders and sub contractors, Walyarra ensured the Gibb River Road was reopened safely and efficiently, reinforcing its reputation as a trusted Indigenous owned civil construction contractor delivering essential road infrastructure across the Kimberley.
