Supporting Legacy

MD, Trent Haerewa’s family have been involved in the West Kimberley Turf Club for decades. Trent’s grandfather, Brian, was an avid horse enthusiast, jockey and trainer. Brian was apart of the Turf Club and Kimberely racing community. He and his brother were the first in the Kimberley to transport a horse by air, from Kununurra to Derby.

Trent’s family have held different roles in the volunteer based organsistion. His father was previosuyl the president of the WKTC, creating event’s that were unforgettable for the town, growing from strength to strength. Trent’s grandparents were appointed life members, his uncle and his father are current appointed life members.

The Derby Cup is a significant town event and a important family event for Trent, allowing him to promote his grandparents, uncles, and fathers legacies embedded in the club.
