Walyarra Hosts Derby Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours Event

Last week on Thursday, we were proud to host the Derby Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours.

It was a great night and a good chance to welcome local businesses, community members and industry partners into our space, catch up with familiar faces and make new connections. Events like this are a reminder of how important local business networks are in regional communities like Derby.

For us, it was also a chance to share a bit more about who we are and what we do. Walyarra is proud to be a Kimberley-based and Indigenous-owned business, and we value every opportunity to be part of conversations that support local growth, collaboration and community.

There was a great mix of people there on the night, and we appreciated everyone who took the time to come along, have a look around and spend the evening with us. It is always good to step away from the day-to-day work for a moment and connect with others who are also contributing to the future of the region.

Business After Hours events are a great way to strengthen relationships across the local community. In places like Derby, those connections matter. They help create opportunities, encourage collaboration and keep local business networks strong. Bringing people together in a relaxed setting gives everyone the chance to have real conversations, share ideas and better understand the work being done across the region.

For Walyarra, it was also a chance to reflect on how far the business has come and where we are heading. While most days are focused on delivering work out in the field, nights like this give us the opportunity to pause and share more about the people behind the business. We were proud to welcome guests into our yard and give them a closer look at Walyarra as a business grounded in the Kimberley and committed to doing quality work that supports local communities.

We also know that strong businesses are built on more than just the services they provide. They are built on trust, relationships and being part of the community they operate in. That is something we value at Walyarra, and it is one of the reasons we were pleased to host this event. Supporting local connection and being part of the wider business community is important to us.

A big thank you to the Derby Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to host, and thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success.

We are proud to be part of the Derby business community and look forward to sharing more of what has been happening at Walyarra in the weeks ahead.
